INTERESTING DIAMOND FACTS

A diamond is the oldest thing one can own.

The Story of a Diamond is, humbly enough, the very same element responsible for the coal burned in furnaces around the world and the graphite found in a common pencil.

Open pit mines can be as wide as 450,000 feet across and have a depth of 3500 plus feet. This is deep enough to stack the Empire State Building twice.

Formed beneath the earth’s surface, diamonds hitch a ride towards the surface of the earth via kimberlite pipes.

Underground volcanic explosions hoist diamond bearing magma to the surface at Mach 1 speed, yet even at Mach 1 speed it will take millions of years to travel 150-250 miles to the earth’s surface.
