I was fortunate to spend a few weeks in Cuba in May- hot, beautiful and exciting. During our two week visit, spending 6 days in Havana and 8 days in Varadero, we enjoyed a beautiful Cuba around every corner.
The city of Havana was full of life, from the compulsory American cars, cool mint mojitos and friendly faces of the locals. But a few new events rolled into this vibrant city during our visit to Havana such as the first cruise ship from America to dock in Cuba in over 50 years.
The following evening, the brilliantly talented Karl Lagerfeld and the Chanel fashion show entertained crowds of Cuban nationals, international movie stars and US reality stars. An outdoor evening event, a warm summer’s evening, beautiful models sauntering down Havana’s main promenade- it was a perfect evening for all.
And last but not least, the entire crew of Fast and Furious 8 descended on Havana, sequestering streets and neighbourhoods for filming of the latest movie in the successful series. Actor Vin Diesel was a hit with the onlookers, as he stood out in cool white linen trousers and Cuban inspired shirt.
Oh Havana, you are alive and kicking- a city once again on the verge of greatness.
